India, Kolarkhan, Karnataka
India is known for being one of the largest producers of Arabica beans in the world. This microlot is a single origin coffee produced in the Kolarkhan Estate in the region of Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka. Kolarkhan Estate was established in 1890 by an Englishman, Mr. Crawford, who later gifted his estate to Mr N G F Graham. In 1980’s this estate was bought by Mr Rudolf Mascarenhas.
The Estate spans across 540 acres, where both Arabica and Robusta are grown with areca nut, pepper, cardamom and vanilla.
This coffee is smooth and has a huge body with soft acidity. The dominant flavour of this mirolot is Roasted Hazelnut Truffle with a soft Apple acidity.
Growing Altitude: 1,100–1,200 masl
Milling Process: Washed, Sun Dried
Aroma: Malt, Caramel and Brown Sugar
Body: Heavy Body, Creamy Mouthfeel, Excellent Structure.
Harvest Period: December- February
