Perfect for those who have everything or simply love brewing coffee at home!
Learn how to properly use domestic espresso machines, grinders and other common home-use equipment; so that you can get the most out of your home brewing! On this course we cover a variety of topics, ranging from how to store your coffee, to the importance of your grind. This coffee theory then compliments the hands on aspects of the course; allowing you to try out your recently acquired knowledge, by using the equipment you have just discussed. Equipment used ranges from Burr and Blade Grinders, to Cafetieres, Aeropresses and Espresso Machines.
Our sessions are kept to small groups to maximise the learning potential of those who take part.
Home Barista Essentials is run at our purpose built training facilities in Blaydon (NE21 4JJ).
This course tends to run on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 12pm - exact dates can be found above.
NB. We do not run this course on Saturdays and Sundays

A great morning running through everything to do with coffee, with demonstrations showing the difference between grinding techniques ( I had no idea it made such a difference to a cup of coffee), to staleness and the science behind how coffee brews, and how you can make this work for you. This was a really interesting and entertaining morning. Stuart is so knowledgable that you can pitch any question at him and he'll answer it; but he doesn't make you feel daft when you ask something simple or obvious.
I had no idea how many simple mistakes I was making just using the cafetiere at home! And it was great to look at the whole range of ways of making coffee from the simple filter paper all the way to the authentic Italian Espresso machine.
Highly recommended for anyone who even remotely enjoys a cup of coffee. John on 10th Jun 2015
