At the end of June after 12 years at Pumphrey’s Coffee, Mr Allan Pickering has retired. During his time with us, Allan has carved out a well respected name for himself at Pumphrey’s Coffee, gaining the respect of his colleagues and customers alike. Thus, a fond farewell was said to Allan, on the evening of the 28th June.

A surprise retirement party was held at the Northern Football Club, Gosforth, where a collective of Allan’s friends, family, former colleagues and trade customers, joined together to celebrate his retirement. There were many who had kind words for Allan, summed up by Paula Archer Pumphrey’s Coffee sales and marketing manager, ‘It’s been an absolute pleasure and a joy to work with Allan over the years. Bringing fun and laughter to the workplace and still managing to get the job done!  We will all miss him dearly. He has been such an asset to Pumphrey’s, bringing a wealth of sales knowledge and experience. We are all very much looking forward to working with Matthew Patterson and hope he enjoys the position as much as Allan did.’

The evening had many highlights of the evening including a ‘live’ video link from Australia, where Company Director Mr Stuart Archer, gave a heart warming speech thanking Allan for his service to the company and wishing him well in the future. Alongside a memorable montage of clips put together by Mr Stuart Lee Archer, depicting the many events that Allan has partaken in whilst with us.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who joined together on this special evening for Allan. With particular mention given to Allan’s wife, Irene Pickering, and all the Pumphrey’s staff who organised such a brilliant event.
